Recovering From The Debt From December Spending in January

Do not be alarmed! We know you expected the January credit card bill to be huge. Most of us overspend in December and we then experience the hangover in January when we get our bill. This phenomenon happens every year and it is nothing new. We are keeping our economy going by spending, and this is not necessarily a bad thing.

The problem is, however, that you have overspent in December and now you have a huge credit card bill that you will have to contend with. These charges will have to be paid, and get paid on soon so you do not accumulate interest on these expenses.

What can be done?  Debt help is self help, and you will have to help yourself over the next couple of months by not overspending and by cutting back in every area of your life so you can get this debt paid.

Stop the excessive eating out, clothes purchases, and other unnecessary spending and put this toward the debt that you accumulated in January.

Do not cut out every entertainment expense or indulgence however. This will be like going on a diet and then going on a horrible eating binge. You cannot do this to yourself, because you will fail in your attempts to pay your debts.

Prioritize what is important to you, and cut out what is least important. This technique usually works, as you are cutting out the extra fat from your budget without truly depriving yourself.

Best of luck in recovering from your debt and getting back on track financially.
